Text & Chat With UMW Libraries

UMW Libraries is pleased to announced our new text and chat reference services. You can text your questions to 540-657-3337. Text messaging rates may apply. You can also chat with us by clicking on the image below. These services are only available while either reference desk is staffed. See hours of availability here.

  1. Does UMW have access to an image library? There is a site, Springer Images, that has lots of images that would be helpful to me…but it is very expensive. Do I have access to something similar?

  2. Katy Rathman says:

Do you know if we have something on our library site where you can type in chicago works cited and all you have to do is copy and paste onto your paper ?

    • Paul Butler says:

      Hi Katy,
Thanks for the question! We do not have a resource that specifically does that on our website, but I can point you in a few directions that might help.

I should first point you to our Help Guide on Chicago / Turabian, which might answer some questions about the format.

The browser plugin Zotero can automate citation creation, and is free to use. We have an entire Help Guide on Zotero that can get you started.

There are also online resources that you can use to help create citations, such as the Citation Machine.

Finally, depending on where you found the resource you wish to cite, most online databases let you create a citation for the resource you are viewing, which can be a quick and easy way to create a citation.

Caveat emptor – be sure to double check any citations you get from an automated source for accuracy.

Hope this helps. Please be sure to contact us if you have any further questions.

      Cheers, Paul the Librarian
