Giving to UMW Libraries

About the Libraries

UMW Libraries constitute the knowledge center of the University — a physical and virtual manifestation of the institution’s mission of teaching, learning, research, and service. We continuously add materials to our collections each year to support the University’s wide-ranging curriculum. The Libraries are an official government publications depository, and maintain a rare books collection, the University Archives, and an online digital repository.

Invest in Academic Excellence

UMW Libraries are committed to supporting the University’s mission of creating an environment where students, faculty, and staff share in the creation and exploration of knowledge. Our goals include:

  • Developing the information literacy skills of students through classroom teaching and one-on-one interactions
  • Building collections that support and enhance the University’s curriculum
  • Creating physical spaces within the libraries to support learning, collaboration, and research

By investing in the Libraries, your gift – no matter the size – will have considerable impact on the entire UMW community. We encourage you to make a gift to UMW Libraries today.

Rosemary Arneson

Libraries are more important than ever to today’s university. We continue to collect, organize, and preserve the accumulated knowledge of humankind, while we are also pushing the boundaries of technology to find new ways to help students and faculty explore the knowledge universe. The future starts in the library.
