Instant Messaging Guidelines

The Stafford Campus Library now offers research assistance via the web using the chat/instant messaging service Meebo. A Meebo widget is accessible from the Stafford Research Guides, our Ask the Stafford Library page, and other library web pages and allows you to quickly and easily contact a member of the Library staff. Via Meebo, Library staff can assist you with brief questions about library research and services. If you have a lengthy or involved question, you may be asked to call or email a librarian or to schedule a personal research appointment.

Library staff should be available via Meebo during our regular hours. While there may be some delay as we assist other patrons, we will respond to your chat questions as quickly as possible. If we are “offline” or unavailable via Meebo, please call us at 540-286-8025 or email us at stafflib@umw.edu; if you leave us a message via Meebo when we are “offline” or unavailable, please include your contact information so that we can respond to your question.
